Security Forces Gun Down Guerrilla in Kashmir; Operation Continues

A separatist guerrilla was killed in a gunfight with the security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Saturday, police said. Arms and ammunitions were recovered from the terrorist, police added.

Troops of 28 Rashtriya Rifles and special operations group (SOG) of state police launched an operation against militants in Dardpora (Lolab) area of Kupwara district on Friday.

The police official added that one militant has been killed so far.

Initial reports said two to three militants were hiding in the area. The operation is still going on.
