Samjhauta, Malegaon Blasts: Lt Col Purohit Pleads Innocence

One of the major accused in the Samjhauta and Malegaon blasts, Lieutenant Colonel Prasad Purohit has written a letter to Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar requesting to restore his military honour.

According to an Indian Today report, Purohit claimed that he was falsely implicated in the Samjhauta blast case.

I have been robbed of honour, dignity and rank and punished for serving the nation.

Purohit also claimed that he had infiltrated various terrorist groups like Indian Mujahideen and SIMI as a millitary intelligence operative. He added that he shared every detail of his operation with his seniors.

This is not the first time Lt Colonel Purohit has written a letter to a union minister. In November 2015, Purohit wrote a letter to Parrikar claiming his innocence and requesting that copies of court of Inquiry against are regularly provided to him.

Similarly, in 2014, Purohit wrote a similar letter to then Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde
