Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu has been gathering accolades over Twitter after he rescued a woman from harassment in Maharashtra on Friday, November 27.
Namrata Mahajan was travelling in 18030 Shalimar-Mumbai Express tweeted to the railway ministry’s Twitter handle that she was travelling alone and a male passenger was harassing her.
The authorities were made aware of the incident and the woman’s PNR number was tracked.
Central Railway Chief Public Relation Officer (PRO), Narendra Patil said a senior officer, Ved Prakash, immediately noted the tweet and contacted him to do the needful to help the woman.
The DRM of Bhusaval was alerted and readied to help the passenger in distress.
As the train reached Bhusaval railway station in 40 minutes, Mahajan was immediately attended by RPF jawans, he said.
The male passenger was shifted to another coach as he had a valid ticket.
