  • President Pranab Mukherjee has launched a mobile application ‘Monitor’ aimed at turning President’s Estate into a smart township. The mobile application is created by IT company IBM. According to Mukherjee, the Smart President’s Estate technology solution will result in rationalization through monitoring, education, better coordination and management.

  • The mobile app allows residents to report issues using the web and mobile. The data from reported observation will be supplied to city offices, where they can use the insights to make informed decisions. It is hoped that the smart presidential estate is a replicable model which can be replicated in other parts of the country through citizens’ engagement, public and private sector participation and deployment of intensive technologies.
The Presidents’ Estate is a township which is a micro-cosmic India where residents belong to different regions, pursue different faiths, and observe diverse customs, habits and traditions. This approach in urban governance where we recognize stakeholders for their contribution to public causes is noteworthy,
