Notices Issued to Delhi Jal Board, Tata Power Over Water Wastage

The plea filed by an NGO alleged that RO-treated water was used for the upkeep of Feroz Shah Kotla ground.

• The National Green Tribunal issued a notice on 18 June to DDCA, Delhi Jal Board and Tata Power Delhi Distribution (TPDDL) on a plea alleging they were wasting water. They are expected to submit their reply by 6 June.
  
• The plea filed by an NGO alleged that Delhi and District Cricket Association was using reverse osmosis-treated water for the upkeep of Feroz Shah Kotla ground. Power distributor TPDDL was wasting 7,500 litres of water per day through the RO water plants it installed at 31 educational institutions.
  
• A bench issued the notice, saying that while parts of the country face severe drought, DDCA is using RO-treated water for ground maintenance.
