North Korea Simulates Nuclear Strike on US Bases in South Korea

In an apparent attempt at provocation, North Korea fired three missiles to simulate a nuke attack on South Korea.

• North Korea declared on Wednesday that it had conducted a ballistic missile test aimed at simulating strikes against South Korean ports and airfields used by the US military.

• In defiance of UN Security Council resolutions and the latest in a series of provocative moves, North Korea fired three ballistic missiles on Tuesday that flew between 500 km and 600 km (300-360 miles) into the sea off its east coast.
  
  
• Tuesday’s missile launches come a week after South Korea and the United States chose a site in the South Korea to deploy the Terminal High Altitude Area Defence (THAAD) anti-missile system to counter threats from the North.
