Modi Holds Talks with Tanzanian President, Key Agreements Signed
Modi assured the Tanzanian govt that India was ready to increase cooperation in various areas, including healthcare
On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held talks with Tanzanian President John Pombe Joseph Magufuli on a wide range of issues aimed at boosting ties in the African continent, particularly in the economic sphere.
The two leaders signed a number of key agreements, and delivered a joint press statement at the state house in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania where he revealed that India was working on a number of water projects for 17 cities in Tanzania and that the former is considering an additional 500 million dollars of concessional credit to the African country.
PM Modi also assured the Tanzanian government that India was ready to increase cooperation in healthcare, and help meet priorities which include supply of medicines and equipment.
President Magufuli revealed in the joint session that Tanzania had agreed to deepen overall defence and security partnership with India, especially in the maritime domain.
