Vice-Chancellor of the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (Anantapur), MM Sarkar and two others, were killed when their car collided with a lorry on the national highway in Anantapuramu district of Andhra Pradesh.
The VC and the others, his personal assistant Fakruddin and his driver, Prasad, were heading for Kurnool to take part in an NSS programme.
State HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao, Information Minister Palle Raghunatha Reddy and Pradesh Congress president N Raghuveera Reddy condoled the tragic death of the VC.
