Two militants were killed on Thursday in an ongoing gunbattle. This followed the Army foiling a major infiltration attempt from across the border in Naugam sector of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
Troops guarding the Line of Control (LoC) intercepted a group of five to six militants, who were trying to sneak in near Toot Mari Gali in Naugam sector early morning on Thursday, an Army official said.
He said the troops of 35 Rashtriya Rifles challenged the infiltrating militants who opened fire, triggering a gunbattle between the two sides.
