Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a visit to Bihar to launch the Bharatiya Janata Party’s campaign for the forthcoming state Assembly polls from Muzaffarpur.

Modi, who shared the podium with JD(U) chief Nitish Kumar after ages, agreed with him during his speech and took a dig at Lalu for stalling rail projects initiated by the Vajpayee government.

Here are the highlights from Modi’s speech today in Bihar.

  • Bihar between 2015 and 2020 will be allotted Rs 3.75 lakh crore because we want the state to progress.
  • Nitish Kumar is absolutely right – gas grids and roads are very important. Gas pipelines should reach every home.
  • Bihar has suffered because of policies of previous governments.
