Hyderabad University: ‘Depressed’ First Year Student Hangs Self

In a tragic incident, a student from the University of Hyderabad was found hanging in his room in the early hours of Saturday. He is reported to have killed himself. He is said to have been suffering from depression.

The student, identified as Praveen Kumar, was in his first year of an MFA course and had just joined the central university in July.

He was found hanging in his room at the L-Block hostel in Room No. 204.

Students, who found his body around 4am on Saturday, informed the university’s medical officer, following which he was taken to the Citizen Hospital in Lingampally.

Praveen belonged to Shadnagar in Mahabubnagar district of Telangana. At the time of writing, no suicide note was found by police.
