Amul, an Indian dairy cooperative, is famous for two things, its salty butter, which is unlike the flatter tasting ones found elsewhere in the world and its quirky advertisements.

Its old tradition of coming up with pun-filled references of contemporary events, mashed up with its utterly butter flavour, has been a favourite among Indian consumers of Amul’s dairy products.

The recent Amul advertisement makes a clever reference to PM Modi and Pakistani PM Nawaz Sharif’s ice-breaking conversation at the UN Climate Change Summit. India and Pakistan haven’t been on dialogic terms since Pakistan insisted the presence of a third party in all dialogues involving Kashmir. After a handshake, both chief executives spoke to each other for a brief period without any other officials present.
