New Delhi, July 17 (IANS) Massive biryani, khichdi and pizza world records -- we've seen them all. But chef Dhruv Oberoi surprised visitors here by preparing a 12-feet giant Swiss chocolate roll.
Milking on the sweet tooth Indians are known to have, Oberoi, who works for the Olive Kitchen and Bar here, led a team of five chefs involved in the production of the massive chocolate dessert.
"Indians love their desserts. Chocolate especially is doing well. People nowadays are moving a lot towards bitter chocolate, so they want desserts but customized and not that sweet," the young chef told IANS, adding that he's eyeing the preparation of a large tart.
The delicacy, deemed the first Swiss roll in Delhi of these dimensions, materialized after two pilot runs of 3 and 6-feet long rolls.
The final 12-feet roll is being served to the guests free of charge in honour of World Chocolate Day celebrated earlier this month.
