Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal has announced major changes in the admission process in the city’s private schools at a press conference on Wednesday.
The AAP government has discarded 62 criteria which were previously necessary for a child to gain admission in a private school in Delhi.
Along with the announcement of these major changes, Kejriwal also threatened to overthrow the private school system in Delhi and even derecognise institutions which do not comply with the changes.
The children whose families belong to the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) will have a 25 percent reservation while the remaining 75 percent will be open for general public.
