The Enforcement Directorate (ED) raided Karti Chidambaram’s office in Chennai, Tamil Nadu for the second time in the month of December, on Wednesday.

Former Finance Minister P Chidambaram’s son, Karti Chidambaram’s office was raided on 1 December 2015 as well.

In August, 2015, the ED had summoned two directors of Advantage Strategic Consulting, a company allegedly linked to Karti, in the Aircel-Maxis case.

Nothing was found in the fishing and roving enquiry. I would like to see how far a foolish government will go in harassing Karti. I still believe that the departments I left behind have many officers who will act according to law and their conscience.

In that case, the ED had in December last year questioned former telecom minister Dayanidhi Maran and his brother Kalanithi after the agency had probed all the financial transactions of their Sun Network group of companies, according to The News Minute.

In 2012, Subramanian Swamy had alleged that Karti had misused his father’s position as Finance Minister for undue gains.

Reacting to the earlier raid, P Chidambaram had alleged that the government was carrying out a “malicious onslaught” on his family.
