Dawood’s deputy Chhota Shakeel and senior government officials confirmed to The Times of India on Monday that Ibrahim was fit and his leg wasn’t infected with gangrene; nor was he immobile.

Shakeel claimed these rumours were being floated to harm D Company’s interest.

These reports arose after a few doctors were spotted in Karachi’s Cliffton area, the supposed residence of Dawood, and were considering amputating the don’s legs.

Dawood purportedly keeps to two or three of his safe houses in Karachi but does pursue his business interests actively.
