Bhutanese Woman Raped in Bengaluru Apartment; Three Arrested

A 26-year-old Bhutanese woman was raped by three men in a flat in Bengaluru’s Electronic City, early Monday morning. Of the three rapists, one was known to the victim. The accused have been arrested on the basis of the woman’s complaint.

On Sunday night, the victim and the accused known to her were at a common friends’ party after which the woman was invited by her acquaintance to his apartment. He was then joined by two men, who allegedly raped her. The accused have been identified as Mukhtiar, Khadim and Babu, employees of a hotel in the area.

That very day, she lodged a complaint with us. We formed a team to nab the suspects based on the information she provided. All the three accused were arrested from Whitefield.

The victim was sent for medical tests after which the sexual assault was confirmed.
