  • A 22-year-old dalit man, accused of theft, was beaten to death by a mob in Lakhimpur, UP on Wednesday.

  • The police has denied any caste-based violence and said that the body was not dumped along the roadside.

  • A case has been registered under the SC/ST Act and two people have been arrested. Earlier on Tuesday, two dalit men were brutally beaten by cow vigilantes in a village in Andhra Pradesh and the issue was raised in the Rajya Sabha.
