Watch: The Giant Panda Makes a Comeback, but the Fight Is Not Over

The world’s rarest bear is no longer endangered, new data revealed this week.

After Giant Pandas were almost wiped out by poaching and human development, the rarest of bears has finally made a comeback. The International Union for the Conservation of Nature announced this week that there are now more than 1,800 Pandas in the wild.

But the battle for Panda survival still has a long way to go. Climate change is expected to render about one-third of Panda habitat uninhabitable by 2100.

It will take more than a couple thousand Pandas to keep the species going.
