CBSE Class X, XII Exams From 5 March, ICSE from 26 Feb

As per the CBSE guidelines, the schoolswill be conducting the practical exams from mid-January.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct its annual examinations of Classes X and XII from 5 March 2018.

The CBSE class X examinations, in which 16,38,552 students are expected to appear, would end on 4 April.

Class XII annual examinations, for which 11,86,144 students are expected to appear, would go on till 12 April.

While the first exam in class X is of the subject Information and Communication Technology, class XII students will be appearing for the English paper first.

As per the CBSE guidelines, the schools affiliated with the board will be conducting the practical exams from mid-January and complete it by 31 January.

This will be the first batch to appear for Class X board examination after the board decided to junk the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) and reintroduce the board exams.

ICSE and ISC Exams

Examinations for schools under the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) will begin in February.

According to a report by NDTV, the ICSE or class X examinations will begin on 26 February, and the ISC or class XII exams will begin on 7 February.

However, the Council has said the dates are tentative as of yet, and might change according to the dates for the Assembly elections, which are yet to be declared.

The NDTV report also states that CISCE has decided to implement the new pass rule from this year, instead from 2019. According to the new rule pass marks would be 33 percent and 35 percent for class X and class XII, respectively.
