Markets Close Flat: Sensex Gains 125 Pts, Nifty Above 11,000-Mark

Domestic equity benchmark BSE Sensex closed 125.37 points higher at 37,270.82, an increase of 0.34 percent on Wednesday, 11 September. The Nifty50, on the other hand, rose by 32.65 points or 0.30 percent to close at 11,035.70 in the closing session.

Earlier during the day, markets opened in the green with both Sensex and Nifty gaining more than quarter a percent in the early trade.

The 30-share BSE Sensex gained more than 100 points to open at 37,251.03, while the broader 50-share NSE Nifty consolidated above the 11,000-mark.

Meanwhile, crude oil prices rose 0.39 percent to Rs 4,167 per barrel on Wednesday as speculators created fresh positions on firm global cues, PTI reported.

Analysts reportedly said raising of bets by participants kept crude prices to trade higher.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude for delivery in September contracts was trading higher by Rs 16, or 0.39 percent to Rs 4,167 barrel in 44,871 lots.
