Sensex Hits 36,160 Points, Nifty at 11,069

The BSE Sensex changed little at 36,150. The NSE Nifty 50 Index declined 0.1 percent to 11,072.

The S&P BSE Sensex was little changed at 36,150 and the NSE Nifty 50 Index declined 0.1 percent to 11,072 on Wednesday, 24 January.

Broader markets also traded on a muted note as the S&P BSE MidCap Index changed little. The S&P BSE SmallCap Index, however, saw a fall of 0.2 percent.

Eleven out of 19 sector gauges compiled by BSE were trading lower led by losses in the S&P BSE Telecom Index's 1.4 percent drop. On the flipside, the S&P BSE FMCG Index was the top sectoral gainer, up 0.3 percent.
