Soldier Dies After Falling Into Gorge Along LoC in North Kashmir

A 29-year-old army jawan died after he slipped and fell into a gorge during patrolling along the Line of Control (LoC) in north Kashmir's Kupwara district, officials said on Monday, 25 November.

Due to inclement weather and snowfall, the jawan slipped and fell into the gorge during patrolling along the LoC in Keran sector of Kupwara district on Sunday night, they said.

The jawan has been identified as Naik Peera Ram of Rajasthan.

A dispute between two women friends over the sale proceeds of a moped in Maharashtra's Aurangabad district led to the killing of one of them, police said.

Jessica Lal Case: Delhi HC Asks Jail Authorities to Decide Convict's Parole Plea Within Week

The Delhi High Court directed the jail authorities to decide within a week the plea of Jessica Lal murder convict Manu Sharma, who has spent about 17 years in jail, seeking eight weeks parole to look after family needs.

Justice Rajnish Bhatnagar was informed by the counsel for Sharma that his plea seeking parole is pending with the authorities for nearly nine months whereas they are required to decide it within four weeks.
