IMA Writes to Modi to Withdraw Kafeel Khan's Suspension Order

The Indian Medical Association (IMA) has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking revocation of an order suspending Uttar Pradesh-based pediatrician Kafeel Khan, an alleged accused in the death of infants at the BRD Medical College in Gorakhpur in 2017.

Stating that Dr Khan and his family have been struggling to survive since he was suspended, the doctors' body also sought withdrawal of all pending legal cases against him and demanded that the BRD Oxygen tragedy be investigated by central agencies.

12.19 Lakh New Jobs Created in June: ESIC Payroll Data

Around 12.19 lakh jobs were created in June, lower than 12.88 lakh added in the previous month, according to the latest payroll data from the Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC).

The ED on Friday said it raided the premises of the chairman and the managing director of Deccan Chronicle Holding Limited, and seized Rs five lakh in demonetised currency in connection with a money-laundering probe linked to a multi-crore-rupee bank loan default case.
