"He likes the idea of having someone in there with him, and I do, too," Trump told reporters on Thursday when asked if he would ask Pompeo also to replace the hawkish John Bolton, who left on Tuesday.

Juanita Abernathy, who wrote the business plan for the 1955 Montgomery Bus Boycott and took other influential steps in helping to build the American civil rights movement, died on Thursday.
She was 88.
Family spokesman James Peterson confirmed Abernathy died at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta following complications from a stroke. In a statement, Peterson said Abernathy died surrounded by her three children and four grandchildren.

The Supreme Court on Friday referred to its three-judge bench the Centre's plea seeking review of the March 20, 2018 verdict which had virtually diluted provisions of arrest under the SC/ST Act.
A bench of justices Arun Mishra and U U Lalit said, "Place the matter before three-judge bench next week".
The top court had on May 1 reserved the judgement on the Centre's review plea while observing that laws in the country should be caste neutral and uniform.

The Interpol has issued a Red Corner Notice (RCN) against Nehal Modi, brother of Nirav Modi, the main accused in the $2 billion PNB scam case, officials said on Friday.
They said the global arrest warrant against the Belgian national Nehal, 40, has been issued on charges of alleged money laundering that is being probed by the Enforcement Directorate.
Nehal Deepak Modi was born in Antwerp, Belgium and he knows languages such as English, Gujarati and Hindi, according to the RCN.
Nehal has been named in the charge sheet filed by the ED in this case and he has been charged with destruction of evidence.

Special judge Arvind Kumar granted permission to Vadra to travel to Spain from 21 September 21 to 8 October.

The bodies of two men and as many women who drowned during Ganesh idol immersion were recovered from near Palla Bakhtawarpur village in the early hours of Friday, according to the Delhi Fire Service.
The fire department received information regarding the drowning incident at 8.58 pm on Thursday, officials said.

The Bombay High Court on Friday refused to quash the case lodged against civil liberties activist Gautam Navlakha in the Koregaon-Bhima violence and for having alleged Maoist links, noting that there was prima facie substance in the case.

The Delhi High Court on Friday dismissed a PIL seeking direction to the AAP government to fix the dates and timings for kite flying, observing that there cannot be any hard and fast rule for enjoyment of a festival.
The court was hearing a PIL filed by Delhi resident Mohit Ghalyan, an engineer, who suffered an injury to his neck due to Chinese 'manja' (glass coated string used in kite flying).
The plea mentioned that on 16 August this year, services on the Delhi Metro's Blue Line were affected for around 90 minutes due to a technical snag caused by kite strings.

Two college students were killed and three others injured when their speeding car collided with a state transport bus on the Yamuna Expressway in Greater Noida on Friday evening, police said.
