At least three policemen were killed by unknown assailants in two different incidents in northwest Pakistan on Saturday, police said.
Two police constables were shot dead by terrorists riding a bike in tehsil Kulachi of Dikhan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province bordering south Waziristan, they said.
The police constables were going for duty at Takwar check post when they were ambushed by the terrorists.
A strong cyclone made landfall early Sunday in Bangladesh, where hundreds of thousands of people have moved to shelters across the low-lying delta nation's vast coastal region.
Up to 1.8 million were expected to be evacuated by Saturday evening ahead of Cyclone Bulbul, said Enamur Rahman, Bangladesh's junior disaster management minister.
The cyclone was packing winds of up to 120 kilometers (75 miles) per hour and gusts of up to 130 kph (80 mph), but was forecast to weaken after crossing the coast.
It slammed ashore near Sagar Island and its path included the southwestern Khulna region, which has the world's largest mangrove forest, the Sundarbans, which straddles the Bangladesh-India border.
The National Disaster Response Force is carrying out road clearance work in South South 24 Parganas , a district in West Bengal.

The 37-day-old indefinite strike by the transport employees in Telangana pressing various demands would be intensified from 11 November, the unions announced on Sunday.
TSRTC-Joint Action Committee leader EAshwathamaReddy said the agitating employees would hold protests in front of the residences of MPs, MLCs and MLAs of the ruling TRS across the state on November 11 and 12.
BJP MP Tirath Singh Rawat was injured when his car overturned while trying to avoid a collision with another vehicle in Uttarakhand's Haridwar district, police sources said.
Though Rawat, the MP from Pauri, suffered some internal injuries in his shoulder and neck, he is out of danger, they said.

Swedish police say a 15-year-old boy has died and another teenager is in critical condition after a shooting in a busy square in the southern city of Malmo.
Malmo police said the slain boy was one of two people hit after unknown assailants opened fire into a pizza parlor where the victims were about 9 pm on Saturday. Witnesses saw the attackers flee the scene on bicycles.

To mark the 550th birth anniversary of Sikhism's founder Guru Nanak Dev, Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh announced his government's decision to install a Chair in the name of the Guru in 11 universities, including one from Iran.
Singh made the announcement at an event at Punjab Technical University, in presence of representatives of all the 11 universities, of which seven are in Punjab and three spread across other parts of India.
The Chair will be entrusted with conducting research on the life and teachings of Guru Nanak, according to an official statement.

Turkey's Defense Ministry said that a car bomb has killed at least eight civilians in northeast Syria near the Turkish-held town of Tal Abyad.
The ministry said that 20 people were also injured in the attack in the village of Salik Atik, south of Tal Abyad. It blamed the attack on Syrian Kurdish fighters.

Internet services in four districts in Madhya Pradesh's Bundelkhand region were suspended from midnight on Sunday after people there wanted to take out processions to mark Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi despite a ban by authorities, police said.
Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi, the birthday of Prophet Mohammed, is being celebrated across the country today.
Internet services would resume in a few hours time by midnight Monday, Additional Director General of Police, Intelligence, SW Naqvi told PTI.
An intermediate student drowned while four of his friends were feared washed away in the Bay of Bengal in Srikakulam district in Andhra Pradesh, police said.

Pakistan’s press release said, “We condemn the restrictions imposed by the Indian authorities on all congregations in Jammu and Kashmir on Eid Milad-un-Nabi (Sallalaho-Alaih-e-Wasallam).
“All roads leading to the Hazratbal Shrine in Srinagar and other holy shrines and mosques in Jammu and Kashmir were sealed by the Indian occupation forces to stop any processions on this auspicious occasion, which is traditionally observed by Kashmiris with great fervour,” it added.
A woman was killed and 30 other passengers were injured when a private bus carrying them overturned on Ambala–Hisar Highway, police said.
Most of the 55 passengers belonged to Ambala city and they were coming from Kurukshetra after visiting a holy shrine there, police said.

The body of a 10-year-old girl, missing since 5 November, was found in the early hours of Saturday by the tracks near Vidyavihar railway station in the metropolis, police said.
The girl, who is mentally unwell, had gone missing from Rajiv Gandhi Nagar area, and her parents filed a missing complaint following which teams started tracing her, a Bhandup police station official said.

TN Seshan was the 10th Chief Election Commissioner and had served form December 12, 1990, till December 11, 1996.
President Donald Trump will confront Turkey's leader about his decision to buy a Russian air defense system when they meet this week at the White House amid strained relations between the two NATO allies.
