A serving air force officer has gone missing from the Command Hospital in Kolkata, with his whereabouts still unknown to the family as also to the police a week after the disappearance.
Fifty-two-year-old Brajesh Kumar Shukla, a Junior Warrant Officer posted at the Jorhat air base, Assam, of the Indian Air Force (IAF), has been missing since 5 pm on 4 May, family members said.
“He was last seen on the hospital premises at around 5 pm on 4 May, and is missing since then," a family member said. Shukla's mobile phone was found on his bed.
The discharge summary prepared by the hospital on 5 May records "discharged in absentia". A missing complaint was lodged at the Alipore Police Station the next day.
The missing person squad of the city police has been informed.
