Virat Kohli is known for his love for dogs. The star cricketer visited the Charlie's Animal Rescue Centre (CARE) in Bengaluru on 16 April.

In a post on its Facebook page, CARE said that the cricketer was given a tour of the center, during which he met the number of dogs who have been rescued by the members of the organisation. According to the post, Kohli also ‘passively adopted’ 15 canines, including paraplegic, blind and chronically ill dogs. This means that he will undertake financial responsibility for these dogs and will be kept in the loop about their wellbeing.

Founder trustee of CARE, Sudha Narayanan, accompanied Kohli as he met the rescued canines. Here are a few photos from the day:

“He met our adoption pups George and Snowy and said in no uncertain terms that rescued is his favourite breed. He hoped people would understand that it's always better to adopt than to shop for a companion pet,” the centre said in its post.
