Women in Kerala gathered to defeat the forces against gender equality by forming a 620 km human chain.

Women standing against all odds
Wall for the better future.

This move came in the middle of the row over access to Sabarimala temple in Kerala. This movement was organized by Kerala state government, which also got the support of leaders and members from socio-political organizations and progressive Hindu organizations.

According to the BBC, around five million women from various parts of Kerala had assembled over national highways from Kasaragod to Thiruvanthapuram.

While this chain was formed by women and girls on one side, men too came in support by forming a chain on the opposite side.

Twitterati lauded this campaign referring to it as ‘wall for the future’ and ‘hope for entire feminist movements’.

Here’s how people reacted on the #Womenwall.
