Tweeple Get Their Vinods Mixed Up, Mourn Kambli Instead of Khanna

“2 minutes silence for Vinod Kambli,” one Twitter user wrote. Understandably, the ex-cricketer wasn’t too pleased.

A minor goof-up on social media can turn out to be disastrous. On Thursday, hours after veteran Bollywood actor Vinod Khanna passed away, some Twitter users ended up mourning (and tagging) the wrong Vinod – former cricketer Vinod Kambli.

After repeatedly being tagged by tweeple grieving his ‘death’, the former India batsman was understandably not too pleased, and lashed out at them. He even blocked one of the mourners (or so the Twitter user in question later said).

This is how the comedy of errors played out:

While one of them pointed out the error..

...one Twitter user played along despite knowing better.

Finally, a furious Kambli decided to set the record straight.

Some of the 'mourners’ later apologised to the former batsman on realising their blooper.
