A Skoda Octavia owner, frustrated with regular breakdown of the vehicle, got two donkeys to tow his car through busy market areas in Ludhiana. This was his way of protesting against the leading car company that failed to fix his car’s problem.

The owner had tried speaking to the dealer head as well as the zonal office of Skoda, but did not get sufficient help.

The owner purchased the car in 2015, and has experienced regular breakdown since then. In an interview with ANI, he said that the biggest mistake he made when he bought the car was that he did not buy two donkeys with it who would tow it each time it broke down.

The company also refused to change some of the car parts under warranty, even though their policy says otherwise, said the Octavia owner. The brakes were making a ‘weird noise’, which the company said was a ‘manufacturing and design defect’.

The owner, however, points out that when he had taken the car for a test drive, it had not made such noises.

In a statement to The Quint, Skoda India spokesperson has responded to the owner’s story:

“The examination conducted by the SKODA technical team reveals that the car specifications have been altered by the customer, which has led to invalidating the SKODA warranty. The modifications have resulted in consequential damage and the SKODA warranty states that the manufacturer is not responsible for any aftermarket fitments to the vehicle. Customer service is our number one priority; we always have and will continue to provide full cooperation to the customer to ensure the car is roadworthy at the earliest.”
