The Indian Space Research Organisation created History on 15 February when it launched a record 104 satellites together from one single rocket, breaking previous records held by any country.

Twitter was abuzz with messages – some congratulatory, some anti-Pakistan (no surprises there) and some filled with pride.

ISRO’s feat is never complete without the re-surfacing of New York Times’distasteful cartoon on India’s presence in the international space field.

The New York Times’coverage of the latest ISRO feat was also dubbed as ‘patronising’ by the Indian media. Sample this, ‘India is fascinated with world records, and Wednesday’s satellite launch prompted a wave of celebratory crowing, some of it aimed at Asian rivals’ and ‘The Indian Space Research Organization has gained attention in recent years for staging successful missions at very low cost, in part because its scientists are paid less’.
