Therapist, Khaled Al-Saqaby, in a video posted on YouTube began to educate his audience by saying:

Welcome to our show, which will deal with wife beating.

If that doesn’t shock you enough, the family therapist goes on to say he is...

...aware that this issue (wife beating) is a thorny one, which contains many hazards. But Allah willing, we will cross this bridge safely.

AWDNews.com reports that the video was aired on national television in February 2016. However, the video came to light after it was aired in the US via a Middle East Media Research Institute in April, this year.

The Saudi government approved the video prior to it being aired on national television.

Using Allah’s lessons, he goes on to list three stages of giving the wife an “obedience lesson”:

1. First, remind her of your rights and her duties.

2. Second stage – forsaking her (in bed).

3. Then comes the third stage – this issue of beating.

It (beating) should be done with something like the sewer tooth-cleaning twig or with a handkerchief because the goal is merely to make the wife feel that she was wrong in the way she treated her husband.
