In his speech ahead of the no-confidence motion in Lok Sabha on 20 July, Rahul Gandhi targeted the ruling party on issues including farmers’ woes, demonetisation, women’s rights, corruption and atrocities against minorities.
The Congress chief minced no words as he accused the Narendra Modi-led government of carrying out what he termed “jumla strikes” on citizens.
Gandhi concluded his speech by saying: “You can call me things, You can call me Pappu, but I do not have any hate for you”.
He then proceeded to leave his spot, and walk over to where the PM was seated, before enveloping him in a hug – giving us what is bound to go down as one of the most iconic moments to be captured in Parliament this year.
