Prince Harry’s biggest fan, Daphne Dunne, passed away in Australia on Monday. The 99-year-old, who had won the heart of Prince Harry on several royal tours of Australia, was in hospital, suffering from pneumonia for last two months, reported Hello Magazine.
Ms. Dunne called herself Prince Harry’s 'biggest fan' when he visited Australia. On several occasions the prince would stop to chat to his elderly supporter, crouching down to reach Ms Dunne, who was in a wheelchair.
War widow Daphne Dunne, who stole the hearts of many during her brushes with the Royal Family, has passed away after a two-month battle with pneumonia.
According to The Sydney Morning Herald, Dunne first drew Prince Harry's attention in 2015, when the young royal spotted her wearing a Victoria Cross, which had been earned by her first husband Albert Chowne in World War II.
On her 99th birthday, Meghan and Harry sent her a personalised letter of good wishes.
The letter read:
Dunner’s family announced her sad demise via Instagram.
