It is the 14th of March and there are quite a few reasons to keep you occupied!

1) You could bake yourself a lovely pie.

2) Check out today’s Google Doodle.

3) Well, now you just want to have a yummy pie.

It is the 30th anniversary of World Pi Day and Google’s making sure you stop and take notice.

Pi represents the ratio between a circle’s circumference to its diameter, and is a fundamental element of many mathematical fields. Every year, 14 March (3.14) is dedicated every year to the mathematical constant Pi. It was first recognised 30 years ago in 1988 by physicist Larry Shaw.

And our favourite part...

Wait for it...

Pi Day is often celebrated with a slice of one’s favourite pie. What’s life without puns, right? And that too, one that allows you to feast on a delicious pie!

Today’s delectable Doodle – baked and built by award-winning pastry chef and creator of the Cronut, Dominique Ansel – pays homage to this well-rounded mathematical constant by representing the pi formula (circumference divided by diameter) using –what else – pie!
