French Open champion just last month, Rafael Nadal was sent packing from Wimbledon after a fourth round five set defeat to Gilles Muller.

The 31-year-old Spaniard was on the backfoot from the very start of the match, losing the first two sets 6-3 and 6-4. Though he did manage to drag it to a fifth, the final scoreline read 6-3 6-4 3-6 4-6 15-13 in favour of his opponent.

Muller, from Luxembourg, is the sixteenth seed at Wimbledon while Nadal was seeded fourth. So, needless to say, his fans were left disappointed after the early exit.

Disappointment though was soon replaced by “logic” by Nadal’s fans on Twitter, specially with the below video surfacing on Wimbledon’s YouTube channel.

It all made sense.

Nadal was playing with a concussion!

Or at least Twitterati believed so.
