He might be a revered international cricketer, but Mahendra Singh Dhoni time and again proves that he’s still got his feet on the ground. After a long day of playing cricket, the Jharkhand captain didn’t once hesitate to greet old friends who had travelled all the way from Kharagpur to meet him.
Mahi not only met them, but even invited them for dinner later in the evening. One of the 11 men who came was Thomas, the owner of a tea stall at the Kharagpur railway station, which Dhoni frequented when he was a TT.
Floored by Dhoni’s generosity and hospitality, Thomas decided to name his tea stall after the cricketer.
As his biopic MS Dhoni: The Untold Story revealed, Mahi was a TT before he found success as a cricketer. Little-known fact is that it was Satyaprakash Krishna, Dhoni’s former Ranji teammate, who had helped the cricketer get a job in the railways.
