What’s this kids talent, you’ll ask? Well, Lydian Nadhaswaram played two piano tunes simultaneously while he was blindfolded which left audience stunned and mesmerised at the same time. Lydian participated in a popular US show named ‘The World’s Best’ where he played Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov’s The Flight of the Bumblebee at such record speed that he eventually went on to win the show and the prize money of 1 million dollars. The piano prodigy from Chennai made an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show to play Mozart blindfolded.
The “piano prodigy” has also made to The Ellen Show. Lydian is a student of the Chennai-based KM Music Conservatory that Mr Rahman runs.
Lydian told Ellen that he practices five to six hours a day and like to play classical Indian music and Jazz. He says he can play Mission Impossible with his left hand and Harry Potter with his right hand. He also said that one of his life goals is to take a piano to the moon and play it there.
According to TEDx, Lydian started on his musical journey as a 2-year-old who took to drums. Today, along with the piano, he plays the mrudangam, guitar and tabla.
Speaking on the sidelines of the 11th Anniversary of KM Conservatory, AR Rahman called Lydian and India’s Music Ambassador.
