JK Rowling Steps into ‘Duel’ Between Donald Trump and Stephen King
Being blocked by the POTUS on Twitter has become quite the achievement for his critics.
For the President of the United States, any insult or critique (especially from the Left) on social media is often enough to prompt a block.
On Tuesday, it was the turn of none other than author Stephen King himself.
King has for a long time expressed his aversion towards Trump as President and his policies on Twitter.
Therefore, it may not seem like a shock that his consistent criticism landed him on the #BlockedByTrump list, a Twitter trend started by all those who have received the same treatment as the best-selling author.
However, a fellow from the literary community and another outspoken Trump-critic came to King’s rescue soon after.
Among left-leaning critics who regularly reply directly to Trump’s tweets, being blocked by the POTUS has become an achievement, a mark they wear with pride.
Others have questioned whether a commander-in-chief can block certain individuals from his designated public forum.
The Knight First Amendment Institute at Columbia University sent a letter to Trump earlier in June stating that this was in fact a violation of constitutional principles.
