Watch: EIC’s Aadhaar Song Is Here With News of Privacy’s Death
‘The Aadhaar Song’ tells us to suck it up and stop dreaming about the ever-elusive Achhe Din.
After releasing their highly popular Modi song in March, this year, East India Comedy has now taken it upon themselves to convey the government’s feelings to the junta.
While their last song conveyed demonetisation se dukhi public’s sentiments to our dear Prime Minister, this song cheerfully tells people how Aadhaar is here to strip away their privacy, and there is nothing they can do about it.
As the deadlines for Aadhaar linking approach, calls from banks and mobile networks, reminding people to get the inevitable done have become annoyingly frequent.
EIC’s Angad Singh Ranyal, Sapan Verma, Kunal Rao, Sahil Shah and Azeem Banatwalla sing to the tune of ‘DJ Wale Babu’ to tell us that there is nothing we can do for the sake of our privacy anymore. It’s pretty much out of our hands.
The song also refers to recent incidents where people have been refused food without biometric identification, which has, in at least one case, led to death.
What, want to speak up against Aadhaar? Don’t, the song warns, until of course you want to be termed anti-national. Listen to ‘Mann Ki Baat’ and stop your bank account from getting swachh.
GST, Demonetisation and Whatnot
The song tells us to suck it up and stop dreaming about the ever-elusive Achhe Din. It says while the country handles the after-effects of demonetisation and GST, it seems the only person profiting from the huge reforms is Jay Shah, the son of BJP chief Amit Shah.
