A friend recently asked me, if I could only take one thing to the moon what would I take? I said I would take my ex.

Perplexed, she asked me why? Well isn’t it simple…then I get to leave him there!

Okay there was no friend… but here’s a thought that ISRO’s Twitter handle inspired within me.

India’s ambitious moon mission, “Chandrayaan-2” is set to launch on July 15 at 2:51 am from the Satish Dhawan space centre in Sriharikota and the Indian Space Research Organisation is creating quite a stir online. Launching an e-campaign asking people what they would take with them to the moon saw many netizens come to the twitter yard, listing their #moonessentials.

Despite an overarching sense of desh bhakti where many tweeted how they’d like to take the national flag with them, other answers didn’t hold back on creativity.

Chocolate and music sounds like a good idea to me too!

A good aam ka achar is an essential anywhere, be it a hostel or the moon.

Well, you would want to be comfortable to ‘enjoy the view’ as this Twitter user smartly points out...

The Chandrayaan-1 mission was launched in 2008 and Chandrayaan-2 is an advanced version of it. If India successfully achieves its mission of a soft-land on the moon, then that would make it the fourth country to do so, following the former Soviet Union, the U.S. and China.

We wish ISRO all the best and we hope they’ve got their #moonessentials sorted!
