Who are the ‘non-binary’, and how are they different from cisgenders? Are all people who identify as queer, gay? What is the difference between sexual preference and identity? Those who have lived most of their lives without any awareness of the spectrum of gender and sexuality are often baffled by these questions.

Fashion magazine Elle India has attempted to answer these questions with a hard-hitting video in which members of the LGBTQI community talk candidly about themselves.

“‘They’ is, and should be, used as a pronoun to describe an individual human being if they don't identify with the male-female binary. It's been a slow and volatile education, and hopefully you, like us at Elle India, are willing to learn,” a blog attached to the video read.
