I want to go to sleep and have somebody close to me. Just to be sure that someone has to be someone who cares. That’s all. For you it’s easy. I am too old already.

Blank has two children and five grandchildren. His wife is 67-years-old. Last year, he came out as gay.

In this moving interview, Blank shares his experience of coming out to his family, and the reason for not taking it with him to the grave.

In an upcoming documentary, On My Way Out: An Unconventional Love Story, Blank has narrated his life with his wife Ruth Blank that further reiterates how love, marriage and family can’t be captured in lenses of black and white.
