Actor Kalki Koechlin’s newest avatar is in the form of a podcast host. A new BBC podcast called ‘My Indian Life’ is being hosted by the actor, in which she talks to young Indians on what it’s like to be young in India.
Her podcasts are deep – she delves into the lives of the characters and understands the nuances and the issues that they face.
India today is young and raring to go. Yet, there is one part of our society that just refuses to progress with the youth. We still refuse to give the LGBTQI community the rights that they deserve, we still cocoon women in endless restrictions, and we are still wary of letting our youth explore opportunities outside the preset cultural and traditional parameters.
Kalki Koechlin believes that doing this podcast helped her come out of her own ‘social media echo chamber’.
When asked whether this was a gradual shift from the big screen, Kalki said that she was simultaneously working on Gully Boy and that she continues to pick up cool projects along with her big-screen exploits.
