Alia Bhatt, Madhuri Dixit and Aamir Khan are among the many celebrities who are doing their bit in raising awareness about mental illnesses, this World Mental Health Day.

For the uninitiated, the day is observed every year on October 10. The World World Federation for Mental Health created this initiative in 1992 to raise global awareness, education, and advocacy against the stigma of mental health.

This year the theme of the day is “40 seconds of action” to signify the chilling fact that one person dies every 40 seconds by suicide, and to rally around the cause of suicide prevention.

Celebs Lend Their Powerful Voice

Madhuri Dixit requested her followers to listen to those suffering from mental illness and not invalidate their symptoms and struggles.

Alia Bhatt promoted her sister Shaheen's initiative about bettering mental health and reminded those struggling that they are not alone.

Kenny Sebastian normalised therapy by talking about it. His tweet also spoke of the importance of maintaining mental hygiene.

Rujuta Diwekar spoke about the link between our gait and mental health. She also spoke about the importance of exercise in that context.

Deepika Padukone, meanwhile, announced the launch of her pre-loved closet, the proceeds from which will go towards the work done by her NGO, Live Laugh Love Foundation. Well, the talk about shedding baggage just became quite literal!

Aamir Khan too spoke about how triggering incidents can create an impact on our mental health.

Our favourite message, though, came from UK, where Ed Sheeran and Prince Harry collaborated to fight against prejudices towards gingers, oops, those suffering from mental health.

Here's hoping you take the positive messages shared by these celebs and have a fantastic mental health!
