Actors Kelly Preston and Divvya Chouksey Die After Battling Cancer

Kelly Preston, actor and wife of actor John Travolta passed away from breast cancer on Sunday, 12 July. Closer to home, actor and model Divvya Chouksey died from cancer on the same day. Chouksey took to Instagram a day before her death to pen a heartbreaking goodbye to her loved ones and said she was “on her deathbed.”

She wrote another note on her Instagram stories that read, Guys, I have been hospitalised, not in the state to even talk. My cancer is killing me. Pray for my easy passing. Sorry just unable to reply. love to all.”

Divvya was just 29, and her death was confirmed by her cousin and friends on social media, reported India Today.

Similarly, Travolta confirmed the news of his wife passing through an Instagram post.

“It is with a very heavy heart that I inform you that my beautiful wife Kelly has lost her two-year battle with breast cancer. She fought a courageous fight with the love and support of so many,” he wrote, adding that her “love and life will be remembered by many.”

Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among women. Its incidence has alarmingly risen over the past few years in India with a change in lifestyle and urbanization.

Preston was famous for her roles opposite Tom Cruise in Jerry Maguire and with Miley Cyrus in The Last Song.

Divvya was a popular TV actor and was last seen in the 2016 film Hai Apna Dil Toh Awara.

Condolences for both actors poured in on social media.
