Hungry? Open the fridge, take out some leftovers and heat it up. Sounds simple, right? But what if we told you that reheating food multiple times may prove to be harmful for your body?

While there is no scientific proof to back this (yet), nutritionists say that reheating food over and over again may destroy all the nutrients in it. While it’s almost impossible to stop reheating food you eat everyday, here’s a list of food items you should try and avoid reheating.

And some of these taste great cold! Take a look:

Eggs

Boiled or fried eggs should usually be consumed fresh.

Boiled or fried eggs should usually be consumed fresh. Once the eggs are cooked, eat them immediately but if you must store them, then do not reheat.

Reheating eggs again and again might destroy the nutrients present, and give you an upset stomach while at it.

Mushrooms

Exposing the mushrooms to high temperatures again and again might generate toxins which might harm your digestive system.

Mushrooms should ideally be consumed as and when they are prepared as they are a rich source of proteins & minerals. Not only that, but exposing the mushrooms to high temperatures again and again might generate toxins which might harm your digestive system.

Celery

Celery is considered healthy due to its high concentration of nitrates.

We understand that reheating might be necessary in some cases. At such times, you can at least make sure that these foods are taken out of whatever dish you’re reheating. Or you know... just have ‘em cold!
