24 positive cases of dengue have been detected in the Kendrapara district of Odisha, gripping the area with fear.

A report in The New Indian Express suggests that most of these cases are from Balakati, Nagapada, Chunabandha, Badaanko, Sanaanko, Ranipokhari and villages within the Aul block.

While a few of the diagnosed cases are undergoing treatment in the district headquarters hospital (DHH) of the Kendrapara region, others have been referred to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.

One More Case Detected in Koraput

Meanwhile, a fresh case of dengue has been reported in the Jeypore district, taking the total number of dengue-related cases to six.

The New Indian Express reports that the case detected was of a tribal man from the Doraguda area, who was admitted for fever in a primary health centre three days ago. But when his condition did not improve, the doctors at the centre referred him to the Koraput Medical College and Hospital where he was diagnosed with dengue after an examination by the doctors.

The case is not the only one that has come forward from the Koraput Medical College and Hospital. Five persons from the Umerkote area had also been diagnosed with dengue fever there four days back.
