They might be playing coy, sari-clad characters in soap operas on the telly, but that does not in any way mean that they can’t choose what to wear off-screen. Popular TV actresses Sonarika Bhandoria, Rubina Dilaik and Nia Sharma have thousands of followers on social media, and most of them are shocked when these women get out of the sanskaari saas-bahu mould in their private lives.

Take a quick look at instances where these actresses fought back slut-shaming after being distastefully trolled on social media for wearing what they chose to.

1. Nia Sharma

The television actress who shot to fame with her stint on Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai, was recently trolled extensively after she posted this video of her dancing in a bustier and denims on her Instagram account.

Unabashedly bold and not one to stay quiet, Nia gave it back like this.

2. Rubina Dilaik

Contradictory to her shy self on soaps like Choti Bahu and Shakti- Astitiva Ke Ehsaas Ki, when Rubina shared her bikini clad pictures clicked by actor Abhinav Sharma, the reactions that came her way were crass and derogatory.

The actress kept it all behind and shut naysayers with a peaceful yet striking post.

With some sprinkle of good humor, she gave them a fun fact too.

3. Sonarika Bhadoria

After vacationing in Mauritius, when Sonarika of Devon Ke Dev- Mahadev posted these pictures on her account, fans outraged about how Parvati could wear a bikini.

At first, Sonarika deleted her photograph and put up this post claiming that she was shaken and not mature enough to handle the negativity that social media was giving her. However, soon the actress reposted her pics as a statement that just she did not care about what the world thought of her.

Dear haters, it’s high time you realise that when someone comes on-screen, they are actors. That’s not who they are behind the make-up. Stop shaming them. And for all you girls who gave it back, we love that kind of wisdom.
